Caroline Takes On The Heights Of Mount Kilimanjaro For Charity

08/06/18 by Herwald Sales & Lettings

At the end of June, our Director of Lettings Caroline Sherwin-Darby will fulfill a life-long ambition and scale Mount Kilimanjaro at a height of over 19,000 feet. Initially her friends thought she was joking when she put out a call for a climbing mate, but last year she tried again and a good friend put her in touch with Sue Waxman who works at Pad Residential. Sue was ready and willing to take up the challenge too!

The climb will take 8 days and Caroline and Sue are raising funds for charity Breast Cancer Care. To date Caroline has raised over £6000 and Sue almost £5000! The cause is one close to Caroline’s heart, with a few friends who have been affected by the disease and an old friend sadly lost her battle with breast cancer a couple of months ago. Breast Cancer Care is a wonderful charity, who help the 58,000 people that are diagnosed each year. They offer practical support and advice and emotional support too. They help people to live with, through it and beyond it.

Caroline recently hosted a charity night at The Coffee Sack here in Prestwich to help raise money for the cause. Friends, family and local businesses all attended and made the night a roaring success. £500 was raised! Big thanks goes out to Kate and Joanne from The Coffee Sack for hosting, Total Physiotherapy, Praise Opticians, Latimer Lee and Babo Restaurant for donations and to stall holders Rob Kravitz, Harper Rayne Gifts and Wooden It Be Lovely for donating a portion of their profits to the cause! Thanks too to the team from The Christie for coming along. It really was fantastic to see the local community coming together!

From all of us at Herwald Sales and Letting, good luck Caroline!
